Jurassic Park is on track for 2015July 2nd, 2013

    jp2015

Collin Trevorrow has made some comments on the upcoming film. He says he really wants to honor the legacy of Jurassic Park and make it the best he can. “We don’t want to create a new scoop here, but we really want to honor what came before us. It’s not about us, it’s not about our careers…”

Plot Rumors for JPIVJune 22nd, 2013

    From joblo.com:

JURASSIC PARK 4, set in present day Isla Nublar, is now an actual theme park, as originally intended by John Hammond in the first film. It garners 10 million visitors per year and is completely safe – until it’s not. The park itself is described a very Sea World-esque and includes an area called the Isla Nublar Lagoon. That means underwater dino’s for the first time. No indication of what kind, but there’s concept art showing one of the aquatic dino’s, as part of a show, jumping out of the lagoon and eating a strung up great white shark like it was a fish for a dolphin at sea world.

As part of a show, you ask? That’s right, folks, this will feature “tamed” dino’s. In fact, our source indicated that the usually menacing Velociraptors (which will finally be muzzled, along with the T-Rex – until they’re not) will actually be used to help fight the threat, which begins in the form of a new dinosaur, not seen in any of the previous films (and not disclosed to us) shows to be much smarter than originally thought and is the main cause of havoc breaking out at the park.

So, to sum it all up, JURASSIC PARK 4 will take place back on Isla Nublar with a fully operational dinosaur theme park (I’m sure no expense was spared) that’s both prosperous and safe, until a new dinosaur figures out a way to wreak havoc, causing the use of the now tamed Velociraptors (and T-Rex? Unclear) as a means to fighting the threat.

Jurassic Park IV is Still UnderwayJune 15th, 2013

After the millions of dollars made by the 3D release of Jurassic Park Universal Studios wanted to maintain that same standard for the fourth film. Universal is setting up the time necessary to put together a high quality film. They are looking for a release of Jurassic Park IV during the summer of 2015, which means it would be competing with Pirates of the Caribbean, Avengers 2, and Star Wars VII.

    Jurassic Park IV on hold?May 8th, 2013

There were several tweets by members of the production crew for Jurassic Park IV who have said that there are major disagreements in the script and that the production of the fourth film may go on hold indefinitely. However, Universal has answered, “disagreements between those working on the project and the Studio, which has resulted in an overhaul within the film’s production crew.” This means that the film might not be able to make it’s June 2014 release date. The next couple of days will determine if the release date changes, stays the same, or disappears.

Jurassic Park IV to return to Isla Nublar – Behind the scenes.May 3rd, 2013

Director Colin Trevorrow just tweeted a photo labled JP4. In the caption he mentioned that this was to be the site for Isla Nublar. The real question now is timing. Will the film take place before Jurassic Park’s 1993 timeline or after?

New Insight to Jurassic Park Sound EffectsApril 13th, 2013

“If people knew where the sounds in Jurassic Park came from, it’d be rated R!” laughed Gary Rydstrom. Rydstrom received two Academy Awards for the sound effects during the release of the Jurassic Park in 1993. He was commissioned to produce dozens of dinosaur sounds and on his quest for the perfect combination of sounds he recorded some unusual sounds.

“It’s somewhat embarrassing, but when the raptors bark at each other to communicate, it’s a tortoise having sex,” said Rydstrom. “It’s a mating tortoise! I recorded that at Marine World … the people there said, ‘Would you like to record these two tortoises that are mating?’ It sounded like a joke, because tortoises mating can take a long time. You’ve got to have plenty of time to sit around and watch and record them.”

Gary Rydstrom interviewed and commented on almost all the sounds in Jurassic Park at vulture.com.
